College of Natural Resources

OUR CHALLENGES
The natural world is changing, both because of natural causes and, more often, because of human impacts on the planet. More than ever, the world needs well-educated professionals who have the preparation and experience to address these issues. They need to understand how to balance conservation, management, and use of environmental and natural resources in the context of the 21st century.

OUR STRENGTHS
The College of Natural Resources stands poised to help answer these challenges by providing the education necessary to prepare students for professional careers in conserving, managing, and utilizing renewable resources. Ranked among the best in the country, our programs address the social and human elements of resource management and instill in students a sense of stewardship and land-use ethics. Over the past 35 years, more than 6,000 graduates of our college have built successful careers and attained prominent leadership roles in all domains of natural resources, including business and government.

OUR SOLUTIONS
During the next five years we will increase our presence in the international research community. We will increase and diversify our faculty ranks and new research programs will strengthen our teaching and outreach.
